Located 1km from centre of town, this house has two queen bedrooms, and a third with two sets of bunks.
The property also features 1.5 bathrooms, washing machine, open plan kitchen/dining/lounge that opens up to the large deck area overlooking the magnificent Glenelg River.
Blue Ray surround sound with Sony flat screen and DVD library is great addition to have on holidays and the property includes an outdoor setting, gas plate BBQ, and two person kayak.

Nelson, Victoria, Australia

Nelson is a small fishing and holiday town located on the Glenelg River, just 4 kilometres east of the state border with South Australia and around 70 kilometres north-west of Portland.

Nelson's town centre includes a hotel, general store, roadhouse and a visitor information centre. The river flows through the town centre and there are scenic parks, jetties and boat ramps along the river banks.

Cruise operators offer informative trips along the Glenelg River for visitors, and well worth experiencing is the journey through the 15 kilometre limestone river gorge with cliffs up to 50 metres high rising on both sides of the river.

As the Glenelg River heads south of Nelson's town centre, it empties into Oxbow Lake which then has an outlet into the Southern Ocean. There are sandy beaches along the lake shore and at the river mouth which offer sheltered swimming. Swimming is not advised at the ocean beach due to dangerous undertows.

Nelson is a central base from which to explore numerous attractions in the region. There is the Lower Glenelg National Park which features the Princess Margaret Rose Caves, the Discovery Bay Coastal Park, the historical South Australian town of Port MacDonnell (30 km) and the large regional city of Mount Gambier in South Australia (35 km).

Nelson is a Telstra town in terms of mobile network coverage. The information centre on Leake St has free WiFi which can extend mobile coverage for visitors on other networks.

Hi, I’m Emma, a creative Melburnian who grew up in Adelaide. My husband Sam and I are new owners of the much-loved Deck in Nelson.

This property has enjoyed many years of Airbnb hosting, and we are hoping to continue welcoming visitors to this very special place.

Located 4kms east of the border with South Australia, Nelson is known for the fabulous Glenelg River, which is popular for fishing and kayaking adventures.

Other nearby attractions are the Lower Glenelg National Park, Princess Margaret Rose Caves, Piccaninnie Ponds and Mount Gambier’s Blue Lake.

Our 3 bedroom home is the perfect base, whether you’re an intrepid explorer, or just want to relax on the deck. We have a beautiful view of the river, access to kayaks, air-conditioning, a wood burning heater and lots of fresh air!
