Alyeska Basin - Great Location! Walk to almost everything at Alyeska Resort!

Lo spazio
This private room in a shared home is in a location that can't be beat. This property is also available as an entire, private space under a separate listing when all three rooms are available. This room is offered at an affordable rate a couple days prior to arrival, but is priced high until then to encourage bookings of the entire place as a private unit first. On some booking platforms this listing may have a caption that indicates it is an entire private space, but if you are just renting this room, it isn't! We don't have the ability to change the categories in some cases. This room is ideal for one person, therefore the advertised price is for single occupancy. We will accommodate a second person upon request. There is a $15 ($16.80 including tax) nightly charge for each additional person and animal. The additional fee doesn't automatically calculate when booking, so we will charge the additional amount separately after confirmation.

This private bedroom in a three bedroom, one bath, shared ski chalet is convenient and comfortable. It features a queen bed with dresser drawers and shelves built into the bed frame and a lamp. The most appealing feature is it's great location, within walking distance to almost everything, and now with the free shuttle it couldn't be more convenient! The Girdwood Brewery is across the street. Girdwood town center is a block away. A paved bike path leads you to the popular Sitzmark Bar, The Bake Shop, Jack Sprats, The Ski Shop, Daylodge, and Chair 3, just a half mile away. The bedroom is on the main floor (second level of the property) with a Queen sized bed. There is only one bathroom in this hostel-style rental.

Basic amenities are provided to make your stay comfortable and convenient. This is a shared living situation without private kitchen nor private bathroom. If you are looking for a place to stay in Girdwood that is affordable compared to other available accommodations, and if you can be pretty independent in a hostel-type situation, this might be a great fit for you.

This is a pet friendly place, so the other guests or residents may have pets at the property. Pets are welcome upon approval for a fee. Please inquire about monthly pet fees. We want to offer pet friendly places and we want your business, but we want you to be happy. We strive to keep the properties clean and maintained for all guests, which this fee helps pay for. You’ll be asked to rate the value of your experience, and If this fee creates a diminished value perception, then we hope you find another fabulous place for your party.

If you are sensitive to noise, this might not be a good fit, with other guests and residents coming and going on differing schedules. Your private bedroom is adjacent to the kitchen, and the forced air vents throughout the house allow noise to travel.

Guests can access all common areas of the house, including bathrooms, kitchen, family, living, and laundry room. There is a TV in the family room with blue tooth player and streaming capabilities from your favorite apps. There are two other private rooms in the house who will also be using the common spaces. If you have a scheduling issue, such as an early flight time and are under a time crunch, let us know if I can help you make arrangements for bathroom availability at the time you need it to get ready.

Self-check in with a lock box, so late check-in is not a problem. You'll be given the lock box code a few days prior to your arrival. Check-in is at 4pm and check out is at 11am. We will offer you early check-in and late check-out options if it's available, a couple days before your arrival/departure for a fee of $50.

This is a cool place with some historic reference. In 1998, Kelli bought the place to live in and considered painting over the Alaska themed mural, but some of the Girdwood residents lobbied against it, including the librarian who stated that it was her dog painted on the property. She never painted over the mural, and now it seems appropriate to keep it that way. The cabin was built in 1964 and it was raised in 1978 when a concrete slab was poured and block foundation installed creating a gift shop where tour buses would bring people on their way to and from the sites. Later the lower level housed "The Bike Shop". When the bike shop outgrew the space, it was converted to a two-bedroom dwelling unit.

Host Kelli happens to be a co-owner of a large tour company with over 20 shore excursions throughout Alaska, mostly in Southeast. She offers 15% discount on all tours offered by Alaska Travel Adventures to her vacation rental guests. Unfortunately, Alaska Travel Adventures doesn’t currently offer any day tours in the area. If you are going on an Alaska cruise, or are interested in RV travel, this offer may be of interest to you. Popular tours in Juneau, Ketchikan, Skagway, and Sitka include whale watching, salmon bakes, river rafting, kayaking, canoe tours, boat tours, hiking, gold panning, private cars, Mendenhall Glacier tours, Jeep tours, Alaska RV and Cruise tour packages, and more., ask Kelli for the details.

We will strive to provide the best customer service and improve as we go with feedback from our guests. We hope to earn your five-star review! Kelli, consistently achieves 5-star reviews for her Juneau, Anchorage, and Alyeska vacation rentals, but has struggled with achieving 5-stars on vacation rental rooms in shared living environments. The objective is to provide a more affordable option for visitors and long-term residents. Your private, rented room will be clean and ready for you. The condition of the house is that of reasonable living with roommates. You are welcome to use any of the supplies/equipment in the kitchen and enjoy use of all common areas. The common areas of the house are cleaned twice per month, but not necessarily immediately prior to your stay. You should not have high expectations of the cleanliness of the house, since this is something that can’t be guaranteed day to day, and it could be a couple of weeks between cleaning. All residents are expected to clean up after themselves and keep their personal belongings within their own room, but people sometimes deviate and make mistakes. We’ll ask you to give us a review at the end of your stay and base your rating for the cleanliness category on the cleanliness of your rented room. We do our best in the common areas. Please ask for our other options If this isn’t acceptable to you. We would be happy to share our private “entire property” vacation rentals with you, which we clean for each guest arrival.

Your expectations should be limited to what is promised here, and reviews should reflect how we did with these promises as follows:

Easy check-in process – You’ll be able to self-check in. Kelli will give you check-in details prior to arrival, including a lock box code and you’ll be able to get in at your leisure after 4:00 pm, check-in time.

Great Communication – Kelli is known to be responsive to guests before, during, and after their stay. You can expect prompt responses to your questions. Please text her for the fastest response. You can also, call her. She’ll respond to web site messages as soon as she can.

Clean Room – Your room should be sparkling clean. The common areas of the house get professionally cleaned twice per month, but not necessarily coinciding with your visit. You should not have any expectations of the cleanliness level of the rest of the house.

We have a very small bathroom to accommodate three rooms, including your vacation rental room, so the bathroom traffic is heavy, and while the long-term tenants have “boarding house” rules that they are supposed to adhere to, they are all adults who aren’t micro-managed. If anyone complains (including a vacation rental guest) about any of other tenants, then the issue will be addressed immediately. Kelli does not live at the property, so it shouldn’t be assumed that she knows about issues that exist. Please tell her so she can promptly react for the betterment of all residents. Any feedback is good for long-term improvement and is wanted, but not in the review stage – sooner is better so that your stay will be a better experience for you! As far as reviews go, we don’t promise a clean bathroom, or any other common areas because it’s a shared living space. We have other options where we can offer that promise in Girdwood. Please inquire if interested.

Super Location – It’s hard to beat! You can walk across the street to the brewing company, a half-mile to the resort, and three blocks to the Girdwood airport. Loft at Alyeska is on the shuttle route, which is a free service that accesses all of the Girdwood conveniences – just walk steps to Alyeska Highway to catch the shuttle.

Realistic/Accurate description of what you should expect. Please limit your expectations to your check-in, your room space, and your correspondence with Kelli. Your use of common spaces including bathroom, kitchen, living room, coin-op laundry, and driveway, are a bonus. Your purchase only includes a private room in a great location, and also offers access to shared facilities. Other occupants are not associated with this vacation rental, and are also merely renting a room with access to common space.

Great Value – Girdwood is expensive during peak season, and while this is a more affordable option, we understand that it can seem expensive. Part of the value is the ability to rent for only one night and have additional people and pets. Girdwood has defined peaks and off seasons. We have to charge more when the business is there, so that we can afford to have it vacant for long, slow periods.
