Lo spazio
What to expect:

Our house is a historic three story Queen Anne Victorian on a quiet, old downtown street. It has a big blue front door. Feel free to enjoy our large wraparound porch.

All three hosts are fully vaccinated. We follow all Airbnb deep/safe cleaning protocols.

Parking is abundant on our street. You will be able to park next to the house.

Lexington's central fire station is a few hundred feet away; drivers tend to respect neighbors' quiet time, but you may be able to hear sirens or other city sounds faintly from the loft. We supply a white noise machine in the loft.

Stairs are a central feature: it's 42 steps from the street to your private floor; 35 of the steps are indoors.

" I loved the climb up the stairs and it helped me to appreciate the history of your house."

You will occupy the entire third floor, 775 freshly renovated square feet. "I loved it when I walked into the room. It was a combination of old wood floors, some modern furniture, a huge comfortable couch and also a comfortable bed."

Three owners may be present on the first and second floors. You use the front entrance (blue door). We primarily use the back entrance, increasing privacy for your stay. You may see on of us briefly in the front hall or first floor steps. You may hear us or share the scent of our morning coffee and meals. We are quiet.

You will have your own code for the keyless lock on the main (blue) front door and the second keyless lock for the loft's interior red door.

The queen bed has a new memory foam mattress, multiple pillow sets, dual reading lights and organic cotton sheets.

"The bed slept so well. I have a Fitbit that tells me how well I sleep and it said I slept great last night."

The bathroom comes equipped with tile and glass shower, abundant hot water, lots of organic cotton linens and guest robes. We'll supply shampoo, conditioner and body wash, plus other grooming and hygiene items that you may need.

"I love that you offer things so that even in case we had forgotten something like a toothbrush, it was right there for us."

Our kitchenette features the top-rated Panasonic Flash Xpress Toaster Oven, Toshiba microwave, Nespresso Vertuo coffee maker and coffees, tea options, hot water kettle, refrigerator with small freezer. No stove (city regulations). Enjoy our bright breakfast nook. We have plenty of utensils, place settings, glasses, mugs and cotton table linens.

"At every moment that I looked for something it was right there easy to find."

We love coffee. So in addition to the Nespresso Vertuo, we also offer a French press coffee maker and Melitta cone with filters, plus freshly roasted and ground fair trade organic coffee from wonderful local Caffe Marco.

"I loved the coffee options."

For light control, there are four skylights with custom room-darkening shades, plus two large windows, also with room-darkening capacity, and plenty of lamps and lights for work, play and reading.

Plus:

Super-fast internet (Metronet 100 percent fiber, 500M/500M)

Two chairs that convert to two twin beds

Comforting couch with many pillows

Haiku fan

A few intriguing events happen in our literal back yard each year: On the evening of the first of November each year, our city's marvelous Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) ceremony and celebration happens on all sides of our house, culminating in the Old Episcopal Burying Ground (established 1832), which is visible from our house. Our neighbor, the Living Arts & Science Center, produces this event.

Each September, the week and weekend after Labor Day, the city's huge Roots & Heritage Festival, celebrating African American history and presence in Lexington, happens within yards of our house.

Most Monday nights, a roots music radio show, Woodsongs Old Time Radio Hour, tapes a free live performance at the historic, renovated Lyric Theatre and Cultural Arts Center, visible from our back windows.

Each October, the one-day Phoenix Rising Festival honors the crucial African American foundations of horse racing in central Kentucky. The Festival takes place minutes from our house, often at the Isaac Murphy Memorial Art Garden, named for the African American jockey who won three Kentucky Derbies.

Durante il tuo soggiorno

I am easily reached by phone and text. Much of the time I am available in person on the first floor as well. It's best to give me a heads up by text or call me. All three house owners are often present in floors 1 and 2. Floor 3 belongs completely to guests. Guests may see owners for a moment as we respond to front door deliveries or use the front staircase. We are quiet housemates!
