Enjoy your own private entrance into this large room with en-suite bath. Equipped with a mini fridge, microwave, toaster.

This room is newly remodeled with hardwood floors, ceiling fan, central air, and the works!

Between the East Austin and Govalle neighborhoods, there’s so much to do (and eat) around here. There’s ample private parking in the front of the house which is an 8 minute drive/uber from downtown!

We do not allow pets at this property. Pets will be charged a $75 per night fee.

Lo spazio
Everything here is private, including the room and bathroom. No need to walk through any common spaces, this is your own private suite :)

Equipped with a full sized bed and air mattress there’s plenty of room and sleeping space for everyone.

There’s ample private parking out front. It’s about a 4 minute Uber or Lyft to East 6th and 8 minutes to downtown. Austin has a number of scooter services including bird, lime and lift. There’s a drop-off point right outside of the house, so you can easily scoot around the east side or to downtown!

There’s a dog next door his name is Henri and he’s very friendly!

The strip of bars on Webberville Road is about a seven minute walk through Zaragoza Park (across the street). Awesome spots on that road include Kitty Cohens, Gourmands, Fleet Coffee, the Cavalier, and Lost Well.

An amazing new brewery with wine and cocktails just opened up named central machine works. It’s about a ten minute walk and I’d highly recommend checking them out! Infinite Monkey Theorem (winery) and the Buzz Mill (open 24/7) are both in the same area as well!

There isn’t laundry on-site however Estrada’s Cleaners is less than a five minute walk away and they offer drop-off cleanings in less than an hour!

We kindly ask that you refrain from smoking inside. Thanks!

Dove ti troverai

Austin, Texas, Stati Uniti

The fastest growing neighborhood in Austin, the eclectic East Side is where old meets new and fresh eateries and boutiques are popping up like wildflowers. Dig a little deeper and discover rich history and culture everywhere you look. There are a number of awesome spots close to your Airbnb to spend an afternoon, grab a coffee, or enjoy a meal...

Farms and Plant Nurseries
Govalle is known for its urban farms. Visit the farmers’ market stands at Boggy Creek Farm and Springdale Farm. You can’t find produce more local than this. Tillery Street Plant Company and East Austin Succulents offer a one-stop shop to pick up one of Austin's famous cacti.

Health and Well-being
Get a workout that you’ll feel in the morning at the Austin Bouldering Project. This 50,000-square-foot space is the largest bouldering facility in the U.S., and you can check out the amenities with a $16 day pass. Next door at Daily Greens you can stock up on freshly pressed juices.

Arts and Crafts
There is an enclave of artists working out of the Canopy galleries. One of those is the showroom of Keith Kreeger Studios, where you can see hand-thrown porcelain pottery with minimalist designs. Kreeger opened his space because he says he “hoped that Canopy would become a hub of the creative community here in East Austin.”

Landmarks
One of the most peaceful parks in East Austin is also one of the most overlooked. It’s the Texas State Cemetery. I know hanging out with dead folks isn’t on most to-do lists, but this cemetery is a must-do. Buried on this hallowed ground are numerous Texans who made Texas what it is today, including Stephen F. Austin, himself. There are Texas Rangers (e.g. Bigfoot Wallace), athletes (e.g. Darrell K. Royal), Governors (e.g. John Connally), artists (e.g. James Michener) and trailblazers (e.g. Barbara Jordan). The names go on and on and deserve at least a moment of your respect as you pass through town.

If you’re in the mood for history, head to the French Legation Museum. This is the oldest house in Austin still at its original location and was built in the 1830’s as the French Embassy to the sovereign nation of Texas. It gives a unique glimpse into French life on the Texas frontier.

Sips and Snacks
Zhi Tea has a large selection of specialty teas, as well as a menu of light snacks. This teahouse has a small cafe, a retail area and a backyard where dogs are welcome.

Across the East Side you’ll notice food trucks on almost every corner. One of the tastiest is Thai-Kun, bringing Thai street food to Texas. It was ranked by Bon Appetit magazine as one of the top 10 new restaurants in America in 2014 – and it’s a restaurant on wheels! The food here packs a flavorful punch and I’m still dreaming about the waterfall pork.

From the outside, Veracruz might look like just another East Side taco spot with picnic tables, tattooed patrons, and a mostly taco-based menu. But this place is special. The migas taco is a city-wide favorite, and the al pastor taco is full of flavor. These are the kind of Austin tacos tourists will spend their whole SXSW experience searching for, and hopefully never find because no one told them the East Side was a thing.

At Sa-Tén you’ll find a cafe humming with the laptops of Austin’s many freelancers and telecommuters. The menu features small plates and Japanese-style curry. Sit near the far wall and bask in the glow of an old-fashioned TV that’s been repurposed as a fish tank.

Bars and Breweries

The strip of bars on Webberville Road is about a seven minute walk through Zaragoza Park (across the street). Awesome spots on that road include Kitty Cohens, Gourmands, Fleet Coffee, the Cavalier, and Lost Well.

Kitty Cohen’s may have a pool, but it’s nothing like Barton Springs or Deep Eddy. Instead of swimming laps or listening to screaming four-year-olds, you go to Kitty Cohen’s to dip your toes in the two-foot-deep water and drink cocktails with names like Bo Derek and Roman Holiday. With pink flamingo wallpaper, live music on Sundays, and rotating restaurant pop-ups, it’s one of our favorite spots to cool off on the East Side - no lifeguard required.

Drop into the Easciders tasting room to sample a range of dry and sweet ciders. I recommend checking out tours of the other breweries in the area including Hops & Grain, Zilker Brewing, and Lazarus to name a few.

For everyone who complains that Rainey Street just isn’t what it used to be, Lustre Pearl East is the solution. It’s the original bungalow that was uprooted from Rainey when they needed to make way for condos, but now with more outdoor space and way fewer UT students. Even though it’s further east than most places on this list, it’s worth the extra five minute bike or Uber ride. It’s never too crowded, but there are always enough people to make it feel like a house party you’d actually want to be at.

Restaurants
Launderette is a beautifully designed restaurant from Chef Rene Ortiz in the heart of the Eastside has created a buzz about its modern interpretation of Mediterranean food. You can expect shareable plates that range from hamachi crudo to chilled beef tongue done with bright flavors. Toast is on the menu, and the version with crab is fantastic. This restaurant will remind you that dinner can be a gift for the senses.

With its funky French motif, Justine’s Brasserie will remind you of going to someone’s house for a great dinner party. The oldest restaurant on the list, this French restaurant will make you want to hang out with all your new best friends who were also invited to the party as you enjoy steak frites, homemade charcuterie, and cote de pore.

Jacoby’s is a real Texas restaurant beautifully done on the banks of Lady Bird Lake. The owners get their beef, lamb, and goat from their family farm in West Texas. They also take pride in sourcing produce as locally as possible. You will see many central Texas classics done to exacting standards, like chicken fried steak on waffles, shrimp and grits, and cornmeal-crusted rainbow trout.

Juniper, with its valet service and nicely-plated dishes, feels more grown up than a lot of other spots in the neighborhood - and the upscale Italian food is really good. Come for rich pastas, puffy potatoes, and vegetables grilled with just the slightest taste of char. And definitely keep this place in mind if you want a fancy-ish brunch spot where you probably won’t have to wait for a table.

Kemuri Tatsu-ya brought with it a whole new food category: Japan-meets-Texas, involving things like “guaca-poke” and brisket ramen. The “BBQ Boat” allows you to test out a few different meats, including their brisket, which is pretty good considering you’re not at a pure BBQ spot. We’d lean more toward the ramen, smoked fish options, and chicken yakitori, though. This place is definitely a scene at night.

Hi there! A transplant to Austin, from Indiana . I love music (half of the reason I moved here) and food (the other half). I’m a super hands off host - you’ll likely not see me around, but feel free to knock on my door, say hi and ask about any tips or recommendations!
