Here at Whitewater Farm we welcome everyone that would like to spend some time on our farm in this incredibly special tiny house that we built and decorated with our own hands. We have busy lives on the farm taking care of our crops and animals and children, but we enjoy visitors of all sorts and are so thankful to share our farm this way.

Lo spazio
This tiny house was a dream of ours to build. My husband did 90% of the work by himself and then I decorated it. We are so happy to share it with others who want to try out minimalist living!

The tiny house is located on our 156 acre farm halfway between our house and garage (we also airBnB our Rustic Loft above the garage that sleeps up to 7 and a Pop-Up Camper so you may see other guests on site). Feel free to find those links in my profile if you are looking to travel with a group.

The front porch of the Tiny House features a small bench, which is a perfect spot to enjoy your morning coffee. There is also a rear bench that overlooks the private fire pit and pond and woods, a great spot for bird watching!

Walking in to the Tiny House, you’ll find the sleeper sofa (double sized; sheets are located under the sofa in a box if you prefer to sleep on the first floor) on your left. The kitchen is in the rear left and the rear right features the bathroom behind a sliding barn door.

A sturdy ladder climbs up to the loft which features a queen bed. Note: the loft is NOT young children-safe whatsoever and a baby gate will not work to make it so due to the design of the railing. We do not recommend young children to be in the loft.

In the kitchen there is a mini refrigerator (sometimes stocked with our farm eggs if we have extra) and I provide coffee that can be made in the French Press provided. There is also an electric hot plate for cooking/heating water as well as tea pot, pots, pans and general kitchen tools. There is cream and sugar available.

The bathroom features a port-o-potty. There is no shower in the tiny house but if guests request a shower, they are welcome to use the guest shower in our main house, 150 feet away (please let us know if this is the case). We have also built an outdoor shower connected to our main house that has hot and cold water. Guests may use this at any time day or night between the months of May-October.

This tiny house has electricity but we don’t have plumbing or running water. We do have a sink with cold water in the bathroom and the kitchen area for drinking/washing up. There is a space heater for winter/cold temperatures. It seems to keep up really well if temperatures are 20F and above; if the nights are super cold, the space heater can struggle to keep the bottom floor really warm but the loft always remains toasty...heat rises, y’all! We experimented with different heat sources but this one seems the best option for 95% of the nights in Pennsylvania so we are sticking with it.

For summer, we have two fans for air circulation (one on the first floor and one next to the bed in the loft) and an air conditioning window unit.

WiFi does reach the tiny house and password provided at check in. It is spotty, but is the best we can get in the country.

Outside of the tiny house is our communal fire pit (shared amongst guests on site), a large charcoal grill and an outdoor camp kitchen. Wood is $5 per bundle, money goes straight to my husband for cutting and stacking it. You can also bring your own. Bring your own charcoal as well if you want to cook outside.

If guests plan to walk the property or visit the barnyard of farm animals (we have goats, chickens and rabbits), a Liability Release Form must be filled out ahead of time and dropped off in the kitchen of our main house as this is private property.

A welcome packet, map of the property, Liability Release Forms, and a list of all local attractions/restaurants is available when you walk through the front door of the tiny house.

As we have “free range” animals on site, we do not permit guests’ pets on the property.

For winter stays, please look at the photo of Whitewater Lane. It is relatively steep and during snow/ice can be slippery. There are 4 houses including ours that live up this lane and we all drive front wheel drive and/or all wheel drive vehicles. We are confident drivers in the snow and no one has gotten in trouble on the lane but for those guests who aren’t comfortable driving in snow and/or don’t have a properly equipped vehicle, I would recommend booking outside of the Winter season (usually December-February sees the most likelihood of major storms).

We have enhanced cleaning and sanitizing procedures for all of our airBnB listings and leave a minimum of 24 hours between bookings for this purpose. All dishes/utensils/pots, etc and linens are washed between stays with hot water and standard cleaning methods. There is also a Homedics Air Purifier that kills viruses with UV rays when it detects guests walk into the Tiny House. It runs for one hour and can be manually turned off or unplugged if the noise bothers you.

Hi folks! My name is Blakslee (pronounced Blake-slee) and I was born and raised on a working potato & grain farm in northeastern Pennsylvania, which has greatly shaped my character and passions over the years. For the past decade, I traveled across the country numerous times for work, yet considered my tiny apartment in Philadelphia to be my homebase, but in 2012 I returned to the town in which I was raised with my husband in order to start our life together on the farm. My husband now works locally and I work on our family farm and opened a horse boarding stable in order to put the 1890's dairy barns back into business. The farm has three historic farmhouses located upon it (the oldest one dates back to 1840!), so I've also found myself deep in the middle of renovating and redecorating them as well. The farmhouses, farm buildings, and the land are chock full of history and my husband and I are so proud to call this area of Pennsylvania"home". We look forward to sharing it with you! My life motto is: "I will have spent half my life in the city and half in the country, having enjoyed every second of each."

Durante il tuo soggiorno
Running the farm and horse stable (as well as raising our sons) keeps my husband and I quite busy, but we are always available if guests have any questions and we spend most evenings on site.
