Location
Consisting of mostly stand-alone Victorian houses, this is not your usual New York City neighborhood. A village within the city, it is a quiet, residential community – a respite from the hubbub of Manhattan. There are two shopping districts a few blocks in either direction with restaurants, cafes, pubs, food stores, pharmacies etc. There is a 24 hour convenience store right across the street.

THE SPACE
Your private room is up two flights of stairs and is furnished with a comfortable, full size cast iron bed with a night stand, mid-century modern dresser, a wall mirror, and a table with 2 chairs. The window overlooking the back of the house with a partial street view has a black-out shade, which will block out practically all of the light so you can get a good night's sleep. On your bed will be a quilt, clean 100% cotton sheets, towels and washcloths. Air conditioned in the summer and heated in the winter, we include an extra space heater to use as needed for cold winter nights. Your individual room with have a lock and key for privacy and security.

The bathroom and shower is across the hall and is shared with other guests. There is another full bathroom one floor below and several other bathrooms without shower facilities throughout the house, so you don't have to worry about the bathroom being occupied when you need it.

Overview
Victorian Flatbush is one of the largest collections of victorian houses in the country. Upon exiting the subway, you may well feel that the train was a time machine and you’ve been transported back in time 100 years. Most of the free standing homes here were built in the early 1900’s. You will be charmed with their open porches, turrets, bay windows, stained glass and manicured lawns. No two houses are exactly the same, each one is more charming than the next. Take a break from the hubub of Manhattan and experience small town charm on streets like Cortelyou Road, where fine dining, schoolyards, and coffee shops thrive. A pleasant walk through tree lined streets takes you to the picturesque esplanades of Albemarle Road and a block further to Church Avenue, an up-and-coming shopping district that still retains it's Brooklyn authenticity. One block further and you are in glorious Prospect Park.

Cortelyou road restaurants and bars:
-The Farm on Adderley
-Mimi’s Hummus
-Purple Yam
-The Castello Plan
-Qathra Cafe
-Bar Chord, bar with live music
-Sycamore Bar and Flower Shop
- Lea, more artisanal Italian cuisine and pizza
-Manchego, tapas
-Corthaiyou, Thai food
-Catskill Bagels, breakfast and lunch
-Cafe Madeline
-Cinco de Mayo, Mexican
-Cafe Tibet, Tibetan

Church Avenue restaurants and eateries:
-Wheated, artisanal pizza
-Anarkali, Indian
-Buffalo's Famous, wings and burgers
-Am Thai, Thai
-Hungar Pang, Asian American

And on Coney Island Avenue:
-Werkstatt, Austrian
-Los Mariachis, Mexican, live Mariachi band

Che tu prenoti con me o meno, dovresti mettere la Brooklyn Flea nella tua lista di cose da fare a New York e divertirti un po' a provare gli occhiali da sole vintage!
