We purchased this house with our own family in mind. We wanted a space all to ourselves (that meant no condos) with plenty of room for our three kids to play, all while being closer to the beach than the average parking space on the island. The place we affectionately call "The Beach Pit" fit the bill perfectly!

This 50 year old bungalow was built back when most of the island structures didn't exist. For us that meant it is one of the few homes not in a flood zone; for you that means it nabbed one of the prime lots on the island right next to the beach access!

You will love the fact that you can walk across the street using our handy beach wagon and be right at the beach! You will also appreciate being able to park in our covered car port literally two steps away from your door. No more hauling all of your toys and luggage across a hot parking lot, only to find that the elevator is broken! Stairs and unacceptable parking situations were deal-breakers for our family, and we're sure you will appreciate the convenience of our home.

Despite being 50 years old, you certainly won't feel like you're in a time warp. You'll appreciate the new (in 2018) Ikea furnishings and the most comfortable mattresses you've ever slept on! There are also three smart TVs (49" in living room and 32" in both bedrooms), so feel free to watch some Netflix if you've had too much sun. High speed WiFi is also available with great connectivity throughout the house.

The kitchen is fully stocked with pots, pans, and cooking utensils as well as the expected dinnerware. There is a gas grill on the back patio for cooking out and enjoying a beverage after the sun goes down.

Guests will have access to the entire house, including the spacious and fenced back yard, the rear deck, and off street parking. One vehicle can fit under the car port with another two cars being able to fit in the driveway.

NOTE: Airbnb collects and remits the 6% tax for the State of Texas. However, South Padre Island and Cameron County charge a mandatory 11% Hotel Occupancy Tax. Hosts have to collect this outside of usual booking system. All guests will receive a request to pay this tax via Airbnb Resolutions which must be paid prior to check in. We remit this money directly to SPI and Cameron County. SPI Rental Permit 2018-158245.

We live about 90 minutes away from South Padre Island. We likely won't be there to interact with you unless we are having a family work day pulling weeds and beatifying the exterior of the home (we will notify you if we will be on the property).
