Centrally located makes getting around Columbia a breeze. In spite of how close you are to the city, you're removed enough from downtown life that you aren't disturbed by the noise or lights when you're ready to rest.

The living room has a comfy couch and a TV with streaming services, and the library has shelves filled with books of all types and dedicated seating.

I do my best to keep the space clean, warm and welcoming to all. From the moment you walk in, I hope you'll feel like you're home.

Accesso per gli ospiti
Guests are welcome in any of the communal spaces: living room, kitchen, library, dining room and of course bathroom. I have a few board games, cards, video streaming services and plenty of books, any of which you are more than welcome to use during your stay.

Altre cose da tenere a mente
Walley (my cat) is friendly - for a cat, but he doesn't love other animals. A laid-back pet who keeps to themself is more welcome (in his mind) than a high-energy pet. If it's just you visiting, he may try to cuddle up with you. I keep him out of the guest room when I don't have any guests.

IF YOU HAVE A PET and intend to stay for longer than a week, there will be a flat $125 non-refundable fee (once you arrive). Stays shorter than a week will have a $5 fee per pet per day.

Please note, dogs are not allowed on the furniture. My backyard is fenced in, but you will want to monitor your pet(s) while they are outside; a determined pet is able to escape.

The neighborhood is quiet with lots of green space, including several parks in walking distance.

Earlewood, the 'borough' of Columbia where the house is located, is part of the North Main (NoMa) district which is currently seeing a significant revitalization effort. Some wonderful restaurants/shops are already here, but more are coming!

For history buffs: In the late 18th century, the neighborhood was used as farmland. Earlewood is also home to the Surrender of Columbia monument, which indicates the site where the Mayor of Columbia surrendered the city to General Sherman. The nearby park was known as Camp Fornance during the Spanish-American War.

Most of the homes in Earlewood (mine included) were part of the increased housing development during World War II, for soldiers at Fort Jackson.

Many of the homes in neighboring Elmwood Park are listed on the national registry of historic homes, primarily built in the 1920's and '30's.

I love reading (mainly classics), live music, fresh food, museums, gardens and immersing myself in the flow of a new place as much as I can. The older I get, the more my travel style is "fly by the seat of my pants." Having a plan is great, but being able to ‘go with it' when things don’t go as planned is essential in life. I think the typical tourist itinerary can be fun, but I'd much rather get a local's perspective, which is a large part of the reason I love AirBnB! As a host, I try to give guests as much space as possible. But I'm here if you want to chat, share a meal, or get recommendations for cool places to go. As a guest, I'll be respectful of your space and definitely ask you what you like to do and love most about your region!
