Nestled by the Michimahuida River near the confluence of the Rio Yelcho, you are surrounded by stunning views and a short drive from the Amarillo entrance to Parque Pumalin, hot springs and the pueblo of Chaitén.

Lo spazio
This is a private facility that was once a cozy fly fishing lodge on the banks of the Michimahuida river near it's confluence with the Rio Yelcho. The views of the nearby mountain El Trono are just spectacular, and the building's rustic interior with raised roofs and all beam and glass side create an open space that pulls the outside in.

Mobile Connectivity: Near our lodge is a spot that many of the locals drive to get a cell phone signal. Texting and using What's App from our property works, but the signal is spotty. Also, just a 5 minute drive up to Puerto Cárdenas you can get 3G and 4G signals if you have an important call you can't miss.

Off-the-grid: We run a commercial diesel generator for power in the morning and through the evening. We have a remote switch for our power in the kitchen if you need power during the day. Max will help you with this. We have our own well that's been tested as pure, but some of our guests still prefer to buy bottled water. We tend to keep of kettle of water boiling on the wood burning stove at all times for coffee, tea and yerba mate. Also, the shared refrigerator is gas powered, and water pressure is derived from our water tower. In the kitchen you'll notice we use a system to capture the heat of the wood burning stove to heat water. The system provides "free hot water" for our off-the-grid lifestyle.

The Michimahuida river runs right by our place. The soothing sound of the river along with the spectacular views of our mountain range set this place apart. If you like to fish, you can step out your front door and fly fish after a 50 meter walk, or take a short walk to the Yelcho to fish for salmon and trout. You are free to explore the area around you, and use our lodge as a launching pad to explore the many things to do and see in the area all around you. Parque Pumalin and the hot springs are a short drive away. World class white water rafting, fly fishing, hiking, and little mountain towns along the way are all around you.

Durante il tuo soggiorno
Your host Max speaks English and Spanish and stays in the main lodge. He hangs out in the shared lodge space. If you need anything he's typically around everyday in the morning and evening.

Unlike a normal house in an urbanized area, the location of the lodge and the cabins is rural and off the grid in the wild Patagonia. This requires maintaining autonomous systems of water, electricity, heating, etc. They need permanent attention to keep them operational. For this reason, the lodge and the cabins are under the care of my nephew Max, who is responsible to see that everything works for your comfort and enjoyment. He sleeps in the lodge's main room, which functions as an administration center. Max also plays the role of host to clarify questions you may have, advise you on walks and tours, etc. In this context, Max may occasionally share with you the use of the common areas of the lodge (kitchen, living room, dining room), always trying not to inconvenience you and leaving space for your privacy.
