If you are looking for an activity holiday Snowdonia provides fantastic opportunities for mountain biking, cycling, rock climbing, scrambling, hiking and the Menai Straits for kayaking and canoeing. Local outdoor centres include Plas Y Brenin and Plas Menai for instruction and guidance. For an adrenaline rush, you could also try Europe's longest zip wire located close by.
For those seeking a less strenuous holiday the North Wales Path and Anglesey Coastal Path offer beautiful walks taking in fantastic sea views, or you could enjoy a cycle ride on the Lon Las or Lon Eifion cycle tracks or soak up the views from a rowing boat on a quiet lake
If you prefer total relaxation a visit to one of Anglesey's or Gwynedd's beautiful beaches may appeal, or experience the breathtaking views on a trip on the Snowdon Mountain Railway or the Welsh Highland Railway or visit the Welsh Mountain Zoo or Anglesey Sea Zoo or explore the historic castles in Caernarfon, Conwy or Beaumaris.

The original stairs in the cottage are quite steep and open on one side. A safety gate has been installed at the top of the stairs. Dogs may be accepted but are only allowed on the ground floor and an additional £20 cleaning charge is payable on arrival. Please mention on first enquiry if you have a dog. Bicycles can be safely stored on the patio.

Gallt-y-Foel is a quiet location and roadside parking is available. The Lodge cafe is 20 minutes walk or 5 minutes drive up the road and details are in a comprehensive folder in the cottage along with a map showing local attractions.
