Our home provides you a comfortable stay in a historic quiet neighborhood in downtown Juneau. We are close walking distance to Juneau’s core with cafes, restaurants and shopping. You might want to stroll the waterfront boardwalk along Gastineau Channel and see a big breaching whale fountain and plaza, cultural and art museums along the way. Cope Park is practically in our back yard, a jump off point leading to excellent hiking trails.

Whoever you are, whatever your journey, we welcome you!

By coded keyless entry, you will enter a comfortable, colorful, cheery basement space filled with art!

The living area is warmed by an electric fireplace, comfy couch and library filled with books mostly about art, feel free to peruse the books! The wi-fi extender is also located in this area.

There are two bedrooms to choose from, one with a queen size bed and one with a full sized bed. You may store your luggage in the room you are not using if there are only two of you.

The kitchen has a refrigerator, range and microwave, coffee maker, toaster, egg maker and blender, cooking utensils and spices, dishes and flatware. A washer/dryer is also located here.

The bathroom is stocked with towels and bath and toilet amenities. A first aid kit is also located in the medicine cabinet.

Our home is a non-smoking, no-party, alcohol and drug-free home. We would appreciate if you refrain while here.

A small working art studio is adjacent to the living room, and not used when we have airbnb guests. But please free to ask Pua about her artwork!

There is a small outdoor seating area up the stairs that gets great morning sun, and good for having morning coffee. There is also an outdoor charcoal grill for your use if you wish.

Just a note: depending on the weather, we may need to enter to adjust the heating valves (warmer or cooler) downstairs, but will always let you know first.

We live in a safe kid-friendly historic neighborhood, with old people, young people, very young people and really old people. Leonard and Pua fall into the category of 'old people', although if you ask us how we feel, the answer would be 'young'!!

The neighborhood is in a historic district called the "Federal Flats" and fun to explore the alleys between the streets. There are cafes and restaurants, a supermarket - Foodland, the post office, a swimming pool are all within really close walking distance and there are many walks that branch out from our neighborhood to Juneau's urban and natural surroundings. Cope Park and Gold Creek is also in our 'backyard' with picnic areas and the start of some wonderful trails to Mt Roberts and the Flume.

We have been hosting independent travelers through Airbnb since 2017. The best part of hosting is meeting people which has opened our lives to other places. We dearly love this land we call our home, for all its beauty, inspiration and total awesomeness, and we would love to share that with others who are coming to visit. Leonard is from a small Native village in SE Alaska and I am from Hawaii; we have made our home in Juneau. We fish, he hunts, we hike and I paint landscapes. We are both tied to the land in one way or another. We also like to travel and have been mostly to Hawaii to visit family, but we have also been to NY, Europe, Great Britain, the South Pacific and Angoon, where we have made wonderful friends on our journeys.

In a world filled with so much strife, we want to provide something that all humans have in their beings: kindness, a sense of humanity and hospitality towards each other.
