My place is a Premium water front property on Lake Eildon. You’ll love my place because of the views and the private jetty out front that you can use for mooring of your boats.

My place is good for couples and families (kids will require additional supervision with the close proximity of the water to the house and a climbing hazard on the outdoor deck).

We have wild birds that come onto the deck to be fed and will eat from your hands. Watch the Kookaburras when around the take food from BBQ

A very comfortable 4 bedroom house located in a premium location on the waterfront of lake Eildon, the house is located on 20,000 sq metres (5 acres) of natural bush land. A large freshwater lake out front for water activities. A large outdoor deck overlooking the lake for outdoor meals and relaxing, feeding the wild parrots and other birds and socialising with friends.

We provide
Bedding such as pillows, doonas, blankets, should you require linen, pillow cases and towels there is an extra charge.

We have a well appointed kitchen with everything you will need to cook you meals and prepare snacks.

Other Essentials provided are toilet paper, cleaning products including dishwasher powder, detergent, new cleaning cloths and cleaning equipment if needed.

A few condiments and some bird seed for the wild birds that come to the deck for a feed. If you run out the supermarket sells more seed.

Guests will have access to the lake, be able to use of our jetty for fishing or mooring boats, swimming from or just sitting on and taking in the serenity.

5 Acres of bush land to explore on our property

The property can be base to explore the area which includes some great 4WD tracks in the area, fishing, bush walking in the national park.

Guests have full use of the house, except for our locked areas that include garages, a hallway cupboard and two small store rooms.

The house has a steep driveway that is not suitable for towing boat trailer or other trailers down. The majority of our guests have their own boats that they launch from one of the public boat ramps and then motor to our jetty where they moor the boat for the duration of their stay. There is trailer parking available within the property at the top of the access track. Front wheel drive cars will have had trouble exiting our property and therefore the choice to drive one into the property is your responsibility and the owners will not take responsibility for difficulty with exiting the property. There is the option to leave a car at the top of the driveway and walk the 500 metres down the steep drive to the house.

The owners will send you further details on confirmation of your booking. These details will include access arrangements, location directions, how to turn on facilities at the property, and trailer parking.

Please be mindful we are on tank water and the supply is limited.

During summer there is always the possibility of poisonous snakes being present and vigilance should be practiced when walking around. There is also the threat of bushfire and as such care should be taken with cigarettes and no lighting of outside fires, a bushfire plan should be developed by you and your group. You need to consider leaving on days where the fire danger index is rated as EXTREME, and defiantly LEAVE on days of "CODE RED"

The property is described as " not suitable for children as per Airbnb criteria. This is because the house is located in a prime location close to the water front of lake Eildon with easy access to the water. There is no fencing to prevent child access to the water. There is also a very large deck overlooking the lake, with a handrail that may allow children to climb and fall from the deck. The majority of our guests are boating families with children and they take responsibility for their children's safety with careful and strict supervision. The property will provide you and your family with a memorable and very enjoyable stay.

The house is a Cedar clad and is situated on 5 acres of natural bushland land on a premium water front position on the shores of Lake Eildon. There is vehicle access to the lake (4WD recommended NOTE it is not hard to become bogged at the waters edge and owner is not responsible for recovery) and a floating pontoon jetty for your personal use. (Swimming, fishing or mooring your boat, there is no need to run your boat up on the bank here). Water is always out front of property however when there are lower water levels this mean the water is further from the front of the house. However you are still watching the boats pass from the veranda while having drinks with friends.

The house comprises of 4 Bedrooms with queen-sized beds in 3 of the rooms and 2 single beds in the fourth room, two bathrooms, and two toilets. Full laundry with washer, dryer and also outside clothes line.

The living room has cathedral ceilings and overlooks the lake with floor to ceiling windows over the entire length of the wall and a massive deck that can be accessed either via double doors from this living room or via the external stairs.

The living room has a Coonara heater for cold winter nights and reverse cycle air conditioning for the hot summer nights. All bedrooms and living areas have ceiling fans.

A fully appointed kitchen with stove, oven, microwave, 2 refrigerators (one in laundry) and dishwasher and all the plates and utensils you would need.

The house has a massive deck overlooking the lake with large fixed umbrella and table for 10 people. The deck enjoys the morning and early afternoon sun and often has numerous native birds that visit for a feed. These include Parrots, Rosella's, Cockatoo's (they love to eat sunflower seeds) and also Kookaburra's who may try to steal your BBQ meat.

There is a rear courtyard, if you need a break from the lake views and it faces into the bush where on occasions the odd kangaroo comes bounding through. The property is enjoyable to walk through and has many views of the lake, wildlife can be seen at times and we have seen wombats, enchiladas, deer, a variety of birds.

There are no pets permitted on the property as this is to encourage the wildlife to remain and also we don't allow pets inside for hygiene and allergy reasons. Smoking is NOT permitted inside.

All bedding is supplied however YOU WILL NEED TO PROVIDE YOUR OWN LINEN AND TOWELS. (if using sleeping bags you will need a bottom sheet on the bed please. We can provide linen and towels on request for an extra cost. Guests staying 7 nights or more receive complementary linen and towels for their stay. It is expected that you leave the property in the same clean and tidy condition that you found it when you arrived and that you will respect our neighbours privacy and their quiet enjoyment of the area.

Note: the advertised tariff is for up to 6 people and and additional tariff is paid for up to 8 (maximum bedding provided) On request we have considered extras persons in addition to 8 person capacity of the house however extra bedding is provided by guest, an additional tariff is still required. Please feel free to discuss with the owner your groups requirements.

The Driveway access & Boat trailer access limitations

Like many Taylor Bay properties, the access track to the property is steep and has very tight bends. At times the driveway can be a bit rough. A low sports car would have difficulty using the access track as do front wheel drive cars. We use the access track with a rear wheel drive car (all year) however trailer access to the house and lake is limited and not recommended. Some people may find the access track a bit challenging however once down the access track you have premium lake access and water views. On one occasion after extreme weather (50mm rain in 2 hours) a delay in exiting the property occurred when the vehicle a people mover van had to wait a couple of hours for the track to recover. We have also had reports of front wheel drive cars at times having trouble exiting the property.

If you have concerns with the driveway please don't hesitate to discuss these concerns with the owners.

Some guests have launched small boats & jet skis from the property however a 4wd tow vehicle is recommended as depending on the lake conditions any vehicle may become easily bogged. Towing a trailer up the driveway with a 2WD car would be challenging, or impossible and certainly would damage to our track.

The owners recommend that water craft are launched at the public boat ramp at Fraser National Park or the Eildon wall boat ramp and moored at the jetty for duration of the stay.

Trailers can be left inside the property at the top of the access track.

Please be aware that during periods of low water in the lake, our floating jetty may not be located immediately out front of the house but it will be located in a suitable and safe position as close as is practicable, however water is always out front of the property.

We encourage interaction with us during the booking to insure the guest is well informed about the property and what is needed. The property is isolated and has some access issues for front wheel drive cars and trailers, that should be discussed to ensure that your informed and comfortable.

We generally don't have interaction in person with guests ( as we don’t live on the property) unless there is an problem that needs our attention. We generally phone the landline on the arrival day to ensure that all is up to standard and there are no problems that need to be rectified.

We are more than happy to assist where possible and are freely available via telephone.
