And yes, all rooms have a private bathroom, air conditioning and natural light.

The house is cleaned EVERY day by the housekeeper (this is not negotiable), and all rooms are provided with clean sheets and towels, soap and toilet paper upon prior request of the guest.

LOCATION

Amarillo B&B is located right in the center of Santa Clara, just 100 meters from Vidal Park and less than 50 meters from the Boulevard or pedestrian street: the commercial center of the city.

From our location you can walk to all the monuments related to Che Guevara.

All the restaurants, bars and cultural places are in the surroundings.

We invite you to check our GUIDE at the end of the listing so you know exactly what to do in Santa Clara and get some useful tips for your trip.

THERE IS WIFI?

Yes, there is wifi. We have left you one of the one-hour cards that ETECSA sells for you to contact us if necessary in the welcome basket.

If the time on your card runs out, you can ask to the co-host to provide for one of those that we sell for 1.25 CUC or you can go to the ETECSA commercial offices and buy it there.

The wifi works very well in the morning and at night, but during the afternoon the connection is very slow, so I suggest that you use the service during these hours so that you can get the most out of it.

Altre cose da tenere a mente
I will take this space to tell you with details about the tours "Santa Clara is for locals, but loves tourists" and "Sink into the Afro-Cuban religion with an expert santero"

1. Santa Clara is for locals, but it loves tourists:

A super immersive 6 hour tour where you will learn about Cuban history, politics, and entrepreneurship in Cuba. It is the perfect plan to understand and to come closer to our reality.

You will meet our expert at home at 10:00 o'clock after breakfast. Here he will tell you in short about Santa Clara and why it is the city of Che Guevara, after that you will be ready to explore the monuments.

A local transport (mototaxi) will pick up you at home and it will take you first to the Square of the Revolution, where our expert will explain the details of this place and very interesting data about its construction.

Then you will return to the center and you will visit the Monument to the Armored Train: a monument to the decisive battle of the Cuban Revolution that even has the original railcars of the train and a museum inside them, equally very related to the figure of Che Guevara.

Very near from this place you will be able to walk towards the Statue of Che with the boy, the most humanized sculpture in honor of Che Guevara in Cuba. A sculpture full of symbolism that our expert will explain to you.

Then you will finish the morning in La Turam, where you will get a pizza, lasagna or cannelloni for lunch, while you close the first part of the tour with the delicious coffee that they make. It begins the second part of the tour here: Santa Clara is for locals.

But first, let’s get some rest. After almost 4 hours of tour you will be exhausted. Take a rest because the best thing comes at the end of the afternoon.

At 4:30 o'clock, our expert will pick up you at home and he will take you to know El Mejunje (The Concoction), Santa Clara's iconic cultural place, where the first of the delicious cocktails that you will taste this afternoon will be waiting for you. All you don't know about El Mejunje will be unveiled in less than 40 minutes, after that our expert will take you to know another of the local bars that has not been discovered by tourists yet: Empire. Here they make Santa Clara's best cocktails and it is the perfect example of what it is achieved in Cuba with more desires than resources.

The best thing has been left for the end: the Café Revolución. A small café museum whose particularities will be left to surprise you.

Price: 40 CUC per person or 70 CUC per couple (transport, food and cocktails are included in this price)

2. Sink into the Afro-Cuban religion with an expert “santero”:

An experience literally full of magic, for those who want to know something surprising about the Cuban culture that very few have access to.

Omar will show you what santería is: why all those women dressed in white, why the bracelets and necklaces of beads of colors that some Cubans wear, why the statuettes with offerings at the entrance of the houses, why so many stores of religious articles… each of these things responds to the practice of an Afro-Cuban religion that arrived in Cuba with the Nigerian slaves and merged with the Catholic religion that the Spanish settlers brought.

Santería believes in a universal god from which all that has been created comes, this god has children: the orishas, who govern the different aspects of the world and they watch so that each human completes the destination that has been marked since his birth. Omar will explain all that to you.

Our expert Omar is a young santero (priest in this religion) journalist in formation, with great knowledge about this topic and many others.

There are many rites that are carried out in santería: Omar will show you 2 of them in a very organic way.

The experience begins at 1:00pm o'clock in Amarillo B&B with a Cuban traditional cocktail: the canchánchara. During the tasting Omar will explain to you the importance of the santería in the Cuban idiosyncrasy. Many doubts will be answered with the explanation that he will give you.

Then Omar will consult the oracle of the coconuts, to know the will of the Orishas in connection with the experience and you will know the decisions of the god Eleggua for the day. Then Omar will tell you about the importance of this god for the religion.

After such an interesting introduction you will in fact meet the god Eleggua who is at the entrance of the most famous store of religious articles in the city, and Omar will explain to you the uses of some of the goods that ¨La Gorda¨(The fat woman) offers in her house.

A local transport will pick you up at this place and it will take you directly to one of the religious parties that are developed in the city in honor of the orishas: parties where the genuinely Creole takes leadership and it is manifested in food, drink, dance and music.

And in this way finishes the most interesting experience that you will live in Cuba for sure.

Price: 30 CUC per person, 50 CUC per couple (transport, food in the party and cocktails are included in this price)
If you fear venturing to discover this Cuba outside of Havana, you should know that here we have turned Amarillo B&B into the ideal base, so that you do not miss the beautiful city of Trinidad, Cienfuegos, Tope…

Santa Clara, Villa Clara, Cuba

At Amarillo B&B you will be right in the center of Santa Clara, a city designed for locals, but which really adores visitors.

Santa Clara is the ideal place to learn about the history of the Cuban Revolution in the western part of Cuba. It is called the city of Che Guevara, because it was here that Che led the decisive battle that gave way to the triumph of the Revolution.

Here you will be within walking distance of all these sites of historical interest.

But Santa Clara is more than the history of Che Guevara: it is a city with a vibrant cultural life that develops around the Marta Abreu Central University in Las Villas.

Live avant-garde Cuban music, theater shows, drag-queens shows, bars and cafes for university students ... all in a unique center: Leoncio Vidal Park, just 100 meters from your location

Santa Clara, in short, has that calm characteristic of the inland towns that you will need after your visit to the turbulent Havana, but calm is not synonymous with boredom: you are going to adore this city.

Durante il tuo soggiorno
Ernesto will be in charge of assisting you in everything you need.

Me, Saily, am currently working in Havana, but I am always very aware of this space that I have created with so much love to help travelers from all over the world to know my island.

Ernesto's mission is to meet your demands and needs, and as a bonus, he is always ready to have those conversations about Cuba that interest you so much;)

Who is Ernesto?

He is passionate about wellness: he likes to eat healthy, greet the sun in the morning and look at the sky sitting on the patio in his spare time. He also likes to paint. He has been working here for two years, so there is nothing he does not know about Amarillo B&B.

You will also meet La Visma, the responsible of those 5 stars in cleaning that you see in the listing, and also of the compliments for the breakfasts.

La Visma is a mother of 3, a single mother by the way, which says a lot about her strength of spirit, but also a mother for all of us who have worked at Amarillo B&B at some point. You are going to adore her.
