This is a hands-on activity with customizable tracks based on your interest. We will practice and learn about: 1) Basics of gardening: preparing the soil, planting 2) Watering techniques: drip irrigation 3) Fertilizing: Plant foods, soil amendments, acidity testing 4) Pruning, thinning fruits 5) Selecting plants and trees 6) Harvesting / picking produce 7) What NOT to do for each of the activities above 8) Any other question e.g. garden photography from an ordinary phone camera :) Sample see here: https://photos.app.goo.gl/rFrx4fA1i5NDas1Y6 It is in a relaxed setting in my own garden with my family (we've two young kids). Kids (at no additional charge) and spouses welcome for the activity. You will be allowed to practice and do some of the above activities in my garden -- something that you won't get in a nursery or classroom teaching. This is not for money but to share my learning. First time gardeners (people who just developed interest in gardening or need to maintain their newly acquired garden/backyard), busy professionals/family who are short on time but still want to grow produce to consume / brag would benefit and enjoy the most :) This will make you a more informed & prepared gardener. You will get the confidence to start, no matter how inexperienced you are or how much gardening space you have. A great way to use 2-3 hours to learn something in a friendly setting.
Il tuo host
From 'zero' to 'urban gardening hero' over few years, I've become a practical gardener growing variety of edible vegetables and fruits around the season in my bay area home backyard. My grateful bounties include: * Vegetables: Cauliflower, Okra, Broccoli, Peas, Chillies, Tomatoes, Squash, Asparagus, Green Beans, Beets, Lettuce, Carrots, Turnips, Radishes and baby onions * Fruits: Cherries, Blueberries, Strawberries, Pear, Figs, Lemons, Nectarines, Peaches, Apricot, Pluots, Oranges and Mandarins You can see few photos of my produce and garden at: https://photos.app.goo.gl/rFrx4fA1i5NDas1Y6 I am also a busy full-time employee and dad, who learnt through practice, errors & coaching. I have learnt both how and how NOT to do (fertilizing, pruning, sowing, spraying, drip irrigation). Love to share my passion. No co-host, I'm the sole-host.

We will spend about 2 hours -- I'm quite flexible though. Goal is to help you learn and create a lifelong love of nature/gardening. I don't promise answer to all the questions but promise to tell what I know :-)
