Cosa farete

We will cycle through the woods surrounding an ancient roman road called the Appian way to an authentic italian market where we buy lunch.

At a natural spring we will stop for a picnic lunch accompanied by mineral water coming straight out of the ground!

Along the way we will stop to visit the Park of the Aquaducts and the Cafarella Valley.

From starting out in the square around the colosseum to moving away from rome and into the outerlying countryside, I have experienced and lived through much of Rome and italys history and beauty.

Right now I live in a small town outside of Rome and love being outdoors in the woods near my home. We go cycling regularly with our kids around the lake or to nearby towns for a bit of rest and relaxation.

I am a prominent member of my community as I am known for being an avid cyclist and organising group rides. In addition I have worked for many years as a tour guide, leading bike tours of Rome.

My qualifications include: CPR, Bike Mechanics, Italian Level 5, History Degree.

We learned a lot about the aqueducts of Rome and were able to cycle on the ancient roads of the appian way so what’s not to like? Glenn was friendly and knowledgeable and also a family guy so he made us feel safe when crossing roads and it was a fun activity to do in Rome, whether you have kids or not. Having the e-bike really allowed our 10 year old to be able to last a 25-35 km or 3-4 hour tour. Our family of 3 had a wonderful bike tour and we would recommend the tour to anyone. After 2 days of Vatican and colosseum tours and crowded streets, it is a nice treat to get outside of the city and into some fresh air! This tour only adds to a visit to Rome because it adds a great bit of history that you may not otherwise get. Glenn seemed happy to give more or less history and knowledge, depending on what each person wanted. He tailored stops according to the groups needs. Our daughter really enjoyed seeing the puppies, horses and walking along the rock wall and we never felt rushed by Glenn. He also was able to accommodate is when we asked for an alternate time due to another tour we had booked earlier in the day. Another couple was later able to join us but we appreciated that Glenn asked us first to make sure it was okay. Overall, money well spent and we highly recommend it!

We took this electric bike trip along the Appian Way over Christmas 2019. I loved this tour, that was led by Martin. I'm still amazed that within minutes of leaving from central Rome, we were out in the open, surrounded by fields and greenery. Martin was a great host, sharing stories of historical places of interest, without being over the top in delivering info. It culminated in a visit to the market for our lunch, which we then took to a quiet place nearby (including "young wine" that Martin picked up at a supermarket, which was a great touch!). If you need a break from the sites, sounds and sometimes chaos of Rome, I highly recommend this tour. I already miss all that fresh air and scenery!

It was the first time I have done this kind of ebike trip, but it was an amazing experience. It allowed me to discover another part of the ancient history of Rome. The mix between the superb views, the pleasure of biking, the tasteful food from the local market and the freshness of the natural spring, helped me to enjoy very much all this experience, shared with Glenn and with those nice people I got to know by this occasion.

It was a great and special experience! Leaving early to find some hidden gems just outside the city center of Rome. The trip had it all, lots of info about the importance of water to the Romain empire. Fun bike parts made easy with the great e-bikes, and interactions with the locals in a little cozy market. And don’t forget a great tourguide. So don’t hesitate and just go for it!
