I was born and raised in Philadelphia and I love my City. I have a formal education in history and historical research. I also went to law school. I'm naturally bubbly, friendly and approachable.

I have a guide that gives tours on The Black Journey. His name is Mijuel. He has a degree in history and political science.

I felt comfortable/safe given Covid situation. Tour was outside. Mijuel is a great guide, SO Informative and entertaining! We had 2 teens with us and afterwards they could recall things he said and mentioned his humor. He was able to recite names and dates with ease and how African Americans were integral to Philadelphia while marginalized as the country was founded and the impact that has to this day.

Mijuel is a wonderful raconteur and guide, and answered all of our questions thoughtfully. We learned so much not only about The Black Journey in Philly, but as foundation of the history of this country.

I really appreciated the depth of both historical facts and the storytelling aspect. For me, as an immigrant, was super important to learn more about Black America in this way - by a native of the city, and through walking on actual sites. Anyone visiting should do this. Skip the touristy lines to Liberty Bell, etc...

This is an absolutely amazing tour, very educational, very well planned, well thought out, heartfelt, and heartwarming. Money well spent. If anything I would pay double for this experience. Please take this tour, bring your friends, this is a history lesson everyone needs.

This was a wonderful walking tour. For first-timers to Philly and Philly natives this tour satisfied both audiences. Our guide Mijuel was fantastic — funny, knowledge and entertaining! For folks looking to learn more about the African American journey within Philly’s history, I highly encourage them to attend this tour.

The Black Journey was fantastic!! Having been on prior tours of Philly, Black Americans and Indigenous people were rarely if at all discussed. This tour takes you to key areas in the city and you hear stories of enslaved and free Black folk in Philly. Our guide was lovely and answered any additional questions the group had. I definitely recommend this tour if you're in Philly.
