Cosa farete

This experience is an engaging, stimulating, passionate discussion about Ireland's past, present and future with a group of people who love to talk while meandering through Dublin's streets, stopping off at both the iconic statues and hidden public street art which mark the stepping stones of the story of Ireland and being Irish.
We start with a coffee/tea to get to know each other beside the evocative Famine memorial statues on the north city quays, a visit to the controversial statue of the late Dubliner's band member Luke Kelly. on to O'Connell street, the iconic scene of the 1916 Rebellion against British rule of Ireland. The statues of writer James Joyce, O'Connell and Larkin encourage many-a -story to tell and discussion to be had. Then over the Liffey river to the South Side of the city and Temple Bar where I will take you to see some not-so-easy-to-find street art and a chance to discuss the social issues many of these artists highlight. Grafton Street area and Mollie Malone's statue, the musician Phil Lynott and finally Stephen's Green and a rare statue of female hero of the 1916 rebellion - Countess Markievicz. This experience invites you to participate in an ancient Irish oral tradition of discussion, and storytelling and become a weaver of the threads of oral Irish history and culture which create the rich and interesting tapestry we Irish are so proud of.
Other things to note
You will need to have comfortable walking shoes on and a warm jacket and or umbrella depending on the weather but in Ireland it is best to take both with you just in case. The tour is 100% outdoors so you will need to keep warm. There are public toilets at the CHQ building.

Like most Irish people I love 'the chats' so hosting this experience is the culmination of all my personal interests and passions. I grew up in Dublin and studied History and Politics. I lived in Barcelona, Spain for 10 years which was a wonderful place to develop my interest and knowledge in city and public art and architecture. I went on to complete a Masters in Art in the Contemporary World when I came back to Dublin and I am now a qualified Irish National Tour Guide. I feel passionately about making art and history accessible to everyone through storytelling and discussion and nothing delights me more than watching how interest grows in our beautiful city by showing and telling people the little known stories that the public art found around the city can tell.

Dove ti troverai

The bustling city streets and the quiet alleys of Dublin, this experience meanders through time and place as I guide you through a route and a story only a Dubliner could know. It's my Dublin , my favourite streets where I walked as a child with my Father who worked at City Hall - the shortcuts he showed me through Temple Bar where he pointed out the ancient city coat of arms on the beautiful lamp posts and the civic pride that nurtured in me.
