Programma

Join us at Topstall Farm for an immersion into all things alpacas and llamas. Our herd of twelve camelids bring with them a experience like no other. Upon arrival at Topstall Farm you will be greeted by the herd in the west side pasture. There you will get an introduction to the history of camelids, their unique characteristics and why we love them so much. Next, you will take a stroll through a mid century heritage barn where you will walk back in time on how dairy and rural farms operated in the 1940s. From there, we will have a close encounter with our two resident llamas, Lafayette and DeGaulle. They will be happy to see you. The encounter includes hand feeding members of the herd inside their paddock and leading llamas on a lead for a half-mile walk in a beautiful setting. From there, you can feel their fiber, as well as, learn about processing and see the final product once the fiber becomes yarn. As a bonus, for those feeling adventurous, you can climb up to the massive barn attic where for decades barn owls have raised their young. There you will learn about barn owl behavior and see signs of their activities right there in their home at Topstall Farm. You will finish up with an offering of a hot or cold drink, a snack and an opportunity to browse our on-site store filled with alpaca and llama products.
Please dress for walking in mud and wet ground.

Marla is taking such good care of these wonderful animals! The best part was taking the llamas out for a walk in the woods! Plus the drive to her farm has an amazing view of Mount Rainer

This experience was so much fun. We walked the llamas with Marla during the holiday break and during the snow. My husband loves llamas and as a gift I thought it would be a fun experience. It was even better than we expected. Marla is so kind and knowledgeable. She cares about her customers/visitors and most importantly cares for the animals with so much love. I highly recommend this as a peaceful and memorable experience for anyone. I tend to be afraid of large animals and even I was able to walk and feed the llamas and alpacas. The location is beautiful and the drive from Seattle was beautiful. Lots of special treats found in the little store! Thank you, Marla!

What an awesome way to spend a couple hours! Learned so much about alpacas, llamas, barn owls, and more as we toured the beautiful and charming old farm. The highlight was definitely giving the whole herd of fuzzy fellas snacks toward the end! Big thanks to Marla for sharing her story and knowledge with us, and for hosting such a fun experience— especially in the cold December rain. Highly recommend for animal lovers of all ages!

Marla’s farm was an incredible experience! Group of 6 made it feel like a really personal tour from the alpacas and llamas to all around the barn, even the top of it! Would recommend this tour to anybody!
