Cosa farete

Join me for a unique itinerary...! Away from the hustle-and-bustle of the busy city center of Rome, and into a large green area combining beautiful landscapes of the Roman countryside and impressive monumental ruins of the ancient civilisation that populated it.

This 27-kilometer (17-mile) starts from a location in central Rome and rides out to the imposing Aurelian walls, built at the end of the 3rd century AD. Going under one of its best-preserved gateways, you will reach the Ancient Appian Way, the best known of Roman thoroughfares, once connecting Rome and Brindisi (as far as 350 miles south!). Riding on this road, we will reach the Catacombs of St. Callixtus (or St. Sebastian) where you will be able to enjoy a guided visit of these underground cemeteries of late antiquity.

Next comes a long ride on authentic sections of the Appian Way, while passing next to Imperial villas (Circus of Maxentius), mausoleums (Mausoleum of Caecilia Metella) and a multitude of funerary monuments of every kind and size. A break with a light lunch will follow.

On this tour, you will also experience the Park of the Roman Aqueducts and the Caffarella Park, as well as the ruins of the Thermal Baths of Caracalla (on your way back to the starting point of the tour).

If you are looking for an unforgettable experience for your Rome stay, this is it.

Looking forward to be able to show it to you!

My name is Stefan and I'd love to show you Rome as you've never seen it.

It all started 4 years ago when I moved to Rome and immediately fell in love with the city. Being the bike enthusiast that I am, ranging it on a bike from end to end seemed like the natural thing to do and soon I was struck by the unique experience of cycling in Rome, as it dawned on me - it is a form of time travel!

By the end of my first year here, I joined the incredible team at TopBike Rental & Tours, which allowed me to share my passion for the wealth of Rome and the sheer beauty of getting to discover it on two wheels. It's been a lucky match, with TopBike's top-notch bikes and overall attention to detail in creating special experiences.

Together with our knowledgable hosts Fabio, Rik, Elena & CO, I invite you - Please join us on this time travel on a bike!

Exceptional tour—far exceeded our expectations! Dolores (our guide on this ride) is an encyclopedia of knowledge about Rome’s history and the sites we visited. We all learned A LOT! The itinerary was fantastic and made us see things we would have never discovered on our own. Dolores managed our group through traffic expertly and I never felt concerned for our kid’s safety. The bikes are outstanding in both quality and maintenance levels — our sons rode and loved an E-bike while the rest of us rode ultra-light carbon mountain bikes. Top notch!!!
