The aim of this tour is to show people the hidden gems at the outskirts of Belgrade, places and stories that most tourists don't have a chance to discover. We will drive from the city center, go along the Danube river, through different urban areas and into the countryside. The tour includes several sites: - Local market where you can by fresh vegetables and home made products - Zvezdara forest, one of the biggest forests in the urban zone of Belgrade, so called lungs of the city, with a watchtower overlooking the Danube river - Abandoned astronomical observatory, located inside the Zvezdara forest, a complex of a dozen buildings now hidden between the trees and bushes - St. Stephen monastery, located in the peaceful countryside, just a few miles outside of the city - Ciglana - an abandoned brick factory that has been transformed into an alternative art space where every year an amazing festival takes place (sometimes called "Serbian Burning Man") - Old Jewish cemetery and memorial park You will have a chance to see beautiful nature, modern and old architecture, urban and rural landscapes, places that are mostly visited by locals, traces of socialist era, and you will also hear about the history of the city and country, local customs and tradition, contemporary art, social and political turmoil of recent years.
